• The UNITED STATES NAVY BAND NORTHEAST ‘Rhode Island Sound’ will be performing a free concert at the Canterbury Community Center (Route 14) on Saturday, August 13, beginning at 6:30pm. All are encouraged to come and enjoy this free concert which is being sponsored by the Savings Institute Bank and Trust.
• Canterbury Historical Society opens an Historic One-Room Green District Schoolhouse to visitors each Saturday in August from 10am to noon, with free admission. It is located off Route 169 (South Canterbury Road), adjacent to the First Congregational Church, just south of the intersection of Routes 169 and 14 - (turn in at Library Road). Restored over the past few years by the Canterbury Historical Society, this is the only one-room school in town that is open to the public. It is a great opportunity for children and adults to see what school was like in the not-so-distant past.

This screening of the 1922 silent film comedy, "Grandma’s Boy," starring Harold Lloyd, will be accompanied by live piano, vocal and percussion performed by Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton. Harold Lloyd was the most successful silent comedian of the 20's, eclipsing Chaplin's and Keaton's box office receipts.
• The EAST LYME LIBRARY will feature Broadway Close-Up: Showtunes of Stephen Schwartz from Godspell to Wicked on Wednesday, August 24, 7:00pm. Connecticut composer Stephen Schwartz is best known for his hit musicals Wicked, Godspell, and Pippin. Performers from the East Lyme Regional Theater will sing pieces from several of Schwartz's popular shows.

Then they began providing those same services plus dental care on the Across the Smiles-Northeast mobile dental program at All Hallows Church in Moosup from 9am-1pm on the alternate Thursdays. These programs provide services for people of all ages with or without insurance. At these locations, Generations will be able to provide routine care as well as sick visit care, do work, school and camp physicals as well as immunizations.
